HB Kruger will be targeting victory in his first shot at the Around the Pot Overberg 100 Miler, which takes place in Swellendam on Saturday.

He finished less than 10 minutes behind Gert Heyns, Matt Beers and Gawie Combrinck, who made up the podium.
“My legs are feeling good after the marathon champs last weekend,” Kruger told In the Bunch today.
“I’ve recovered well. My training and health have been good after the muddy affair in Grabouw.
“I am definitely aiming for a win at the Around the Pot 100 Miler,” he added.
The event, a 160km race that starts and finishes at the Swellendam Show Grounds, suited his kind of riding, Kruger said.
“Generally I like it when a race goes over the four-hour mark. I think it should be well within my strengths. Possibly not the open roads that much, but overall the race should suit me quite well.”
The ferry bridge crossing on the route should make the racing “interesting”, Kruger explained.
“It may make it difficult in a way as many riders could get the chance to rest their legs a bit, which could make the race a little technical.
“But it brings a nice dynamic to the event and it offers something different. It could be quite exciting.”
The ASG-Ellsworth rider expressed his excitement at taking part. “I’m feeling confident and I am eager to see what the Overberg area will showcase while having a good time on my Ellsworth bike.
“I have heard many good remarks about the event, so it should be fun.”
Etnard Louw, who comfortably won the race last year by a margin of almost 20 minutes, will pose the biggest threat for Kruger, who said “it should be a big battle”.
