Dimension Data have signed Dane Lars Bak on a one-year contract as from January 1, 2019, the team announced today.
Bak, 38, would bring a wealth of experience to DiData, the team said in a statement. The Dane has racked up 12 professional victories throughout his career, while having featured in 12 Grand Tours and a total 32 Classics.

“I’m hugely excited to be joining Dimension Data,” Bak said. “I’ve been a professional now for 17 years – next year will be my 18th – and it’s always nice to have a new motivation.”
Bak has ridden for Lotto-Soudal for the last seven years and he said he would like to make a contribution at the African team.
“I really would like to perform the role that I’ve had in previous years, as a helper,” he said. “I will try to use my experience to help particularly the young guys in the team and everybody else too, while of course giving my best.”
He was the second Dane to sign with DiData in as many weeks after Michael Valgren had jumped on-board two weeks ago.
“I’m going to support Michael a lot. I hope I can be a mentor of sorts to support him and everybody else in the team.”
