Matthys Beukes sealed the victory in the men’s feature race at the Mandela Day MTB Dash in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal, today.

Beukes completed the 42km event in 1:43:24, finishing three seconds ahead of Stuart Marais (1:43:27). Third was Henry Liebenberg in 1:47:41.
Candice Lill won the women’s title in 1:51:48, beating Jeannie Bomford (2:01:10) and Tiffany Keep (2:02:18) into second and third respectively.
The 21km men’s title went to Mboneni Ngcobo when he finished in 44:23. He was followed by Bongukuphiwa Ndlovu (46:15) and Nkululeko Pewa (49:26).
Riley Smith claimed the women’s honours in 1:10:45 ahead of Jodi Mackinnon (1:11:40) and Judy Gous (1:14:42).
