The section was sculpted inside the Letsatsing Game Reserve.
“The new trail is delightful and presents riders with 8km of flowing single-track – an aspect that has been lacking in the past and which we felt we needed to address,” said event director Gary Needham.
“The animals in the reserve are used to human activity and riders will spot lots of game on their journey.”
The mountain-bike route will offer a 25km circuit, meaning the 50km feature will complete the course twice.
The Cycle4Cansa also comprises a 103km and 70km road race, which will take place on August 26.
Both the road and mountain-bike races are reportedly seeding events for the Cape Town Cycle Tour.
