HB Kruger and Vanessa Bell won the men’s and women’s race at the inaugural Race to the Sun that finished at the Sun City Resort today.
Kruger completed the 162km journey, which started at Hartbeespoort Dam, in a time of 5:05:12.

Jaco Cronje claimed second place after finishing in 5:05:35, while Pieter du Toit completed the podium after 5:06:52.
Fourth place went to Philip Buys, who finished in 5:09:36. Tiaan Swart completed the top five after crossing the line in 5:11:39.
Bell won the women’s race in a time of 5:44:10. She was followed home by Marisa van der Linde, who finished in 5:57:30, while Paula Hardy placed third in 6:05:09.
Monica Glover finished fourth in 6:09:07, with Sarah van Heerden fifth in 6:11:52.
