Cycling South Africa have named the South African squad today to take part in the UCI Road World Championships taking place in Innsbruck, Austria, from September 23 to 30.
National road champion Daryl Impey of Mitchelton-Scott was included in the elite men’s team, but he will only compete in the individual time-trial.
Louis Meintjes of Dimension Data, Willie Smit of Katusha-Alpecin and Clint Hendricks of local team BCX will represent in the green and gold in the road race.
Stefan de Bod, who recently signed for the DiData WorldTour team, made the cut for the men’s under-23 category.

Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio, who won the Giro Rosa a couple of months ago, was the only elite woman selected to do duty in Austria.
