Petter Fagerhaug won the men’s under-23 cross-country race at the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in La Bresse, France, today.
The Norwegian completed the circuit in 1:23:22, beating Spain’s Jofre Cullel Estape and Denmark’s Simon Andreassen into second and third respectively.
South Africa’s Alan Hatherly came 19th in 1:26:51.

Switzerland’s Sina Frei won the women’s race in 1:22:01. Britain’s Evie Richards came second and Germany’s Ronja Eibl third.
South Africa’s Bianca Haw was not able to finish the race.
