Anele Mtalana won the opening stage of the two-day Magalies MTB Adventure in Magaliesberg today.
Mtalana completed the 65km race in 2:30:10, narrowly beating Deon van Vuuren by nine seconds. Thabiso Rengane rounded out the podium some eight minutes later.

Melissa Chaney won the women’s category in 3:46:08, with Tracey Reynolds getting home in second just over a minute later. Natalie Long crossed the line in third.
Grant Hall (2:30:24) and Charmaine Werdmuller (3:56:21) won the single day race.
