South Africa’s Greg Minnaar placed eighth in the elite men’s UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Championships in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, today.
Minnaar sat in the top-three hot seats for a large portion of the race with his time of 2:57.79.

France’s Loic Bruni was crowned the downhill champion after completing the downhill route in 2:55.11, beating Belgium’s Martin Maes and Britain’s Danny Hart into second and third respectively.
South Africa’s Johann Potgieter came 53rd and Theo Erlangsen 73rd.
