Groupama-FDJ’s Thibaut Pinot laboured to victory on the 178.2km 15th stage of the Vuelta a Espana at Lagos de Covadonga today.
The Frenchman completed the race in 5:01:49, beating Astana Pro’s Miguel Ángel López by 28 seconds and Mitchelton-Scott’s Simon Yates by 30 seconds.

Yates, however, managed to retain his race lead, extending it to 26 seconds ahead of Movistar’s Alejandro Valverde.
