Zandri Strydom was the highest placed South African in the junior women cross-country race at the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, today.
The 17-year-old finished 24th after completing the five lap course in a time of 1:20:19. Fellow countrywoman Tiffany Keep finished in 41st position with a time of 1:25:05.

Austria’s Laura Stigger won the race and claimed a time of 1:09:46. Czech Republic’s Tereza Saskova placed second in 1:12:49, with Great Britain’s Harriet Harnden third in 1:13:23.
