AG2R La Mondiale’s Alexandre Geniez sprinted to victory on stage 12 of the Vuelta a Espana in Mañón today.
The Frenchman completed the race in 4:22:59, beating Team Sky’s Dylan van Baarle into second and Bahrain-Merida’s Mark Padun into third.

Cofidis’ Jesus Herrada took hold of the red leader’s jersey after finishing in a select group, over 11 minutes before the peloton. Herrada created a solid three-minute and 22-second lead over Mitchelton-Scott’s Simon Yates on the general classification.
