John Wakefield and Donovan Le Cok won the 124.7km opening stage road race of the Cape Duo Challenge in the Western Cape today.
The Wolfpack 1 pair completed the stage in 3:30:16, beating Flandria Young and Old’s Phillip Botha and Linus van Onselen into second by just less than six minutes. Aluserve/Breedenet’s AJ Davids and David Garrett completed the podium some 11 minutes later.

Breedenet’s Courteney Webb and Lehane Oosthuizen won the women’s duo race in 4:04:47. Out of Office’s Jeanie de Villiers and Helene Rabie and Mud & Mascara Returns’ Vibeke Moore and Tish Jones made up the rest of the podium.
Perf Heart Race Team 2’s Deon Brenner and Karin van Niekerk won the mixed duo race.
