American Thomas Kunath won the opening stage time-trial of the inaugural Cape Pioneer Trek Adventure in George yesterday.
The Adventure option was added at the end of last year and includes four stages, while running in tandem with the Cape Pioneer Trek.
Kunath completed the 31km time-trial in 1:42:20, beating South African Marais Steyn into second. John-Paul Pearton finished third.

German Jill Janz won the women’s race with a time of 2:10:43, beating South African Teresa Coetzee into second by almost seven minutes.
