Philip Buys and Matthys Beukes won the 96km first stage of the Cape Pioneer Trek in Mossel Bay today.
The PYGA Euro Steel pair completed the race in 3:54:56, beating Team Spur-Specialized’s Alan Hatherly and Simon Andreassen by 23 seconds, taking a one second lead on the general classification standings. KTM Pro Team by Visus360.at’s David Schoeggl and Manuel Pliem finished the stage in third.

Silverback Volvo Mad Macs Kawasaki’s Yolande de Villiers and Charlie McFall won the mixed race in 4:20:18, while Team Garmin’s Yolandi du Toit and Catherine Williamson took the spoils in the women’s team category.
