Alan Hatherly and Simon Andreassen won the 11.5km prologue of the Cape Pioneer Trek, which took place in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, today.
The Team Spur-Specialized pair completed the time-trial in 25:05, finishing just 16 seconds faster than Continental Tyres’ Jan Withaar and Danny Fowler in second. PYGA Euro Steel’s Philip Buys and Matthys Beukes got home with the third fastest time.

Landrover Women’s Aurelie Halbwachs and Michelle Voster won the women’s category in a time of 31:32, edging KMC Focus Team’s Trommer Cemile and Karen Brouwer by 12 seconds. Team Garmin’s Yolandi du Toit and Catherine Williamson rounded out the podium.
Silverback Volvo Mad Macs Kawasaki’s Yolande de Villiers and Charlie McFall won the mixed race in 29:26, beating Karoo Ford’s Kevin Taljaard and Siska van der Bijl and Giantliv’s Fienie and Kobus Barnard into second and third respctively.
