Swiss rider Gino Mäder has signed to join Dimension Data as from January 1, 2019, taking up his first professional contract.
Mäder, 21, represented Switzerland’s under-23 team at the recent UCI Road World Championships road race in Innsbruck, Austria, where he placed fourth overall.

The Swiss finished third on the general classification standings at the Tour de l’Avenir in August, while claiming two stage wins.
He finished second in the individual time-trial at the Swiss national champs and second in the King of the Mountains classification in Italy’s biggest amateur race, the Giro Ciclistico d’Italia.
“I’m really proud to have joined DiData,” Mäder said. “It’s absolutely the best choice I could have made and I’m delighted that the management of the team have shown the faith and belief that I can compete at the highest level of cycling.
“I will do my best to demonstrate that the team have made a good choice in taking me on board. I’m going to work hard and enjoy the next, hopefully, few years with the team.”
