Piotr Brzozka and Mariusz Kozak won the men’s team race on the opening stage of the Sanlam MTB Invitational at Meerendal Wine Estate in Durbanville, Western Cape, today.
The duo finished the 40km stage in 1:43:58 to beat Casper Pretorius and Tristan Nortje (1:53:02) to the finish. Jacek Brzozka and Wojciech Halejak (2:00:37) rounded out the podium.

Anneke Viljoen and Louise Ferreira (2:17:12) took the spoils in the women’s team event. Second were Michelle Nielsen and Tandi Kitching (2:30:15), followed by Annemie Kruger and Ashleigh Moffatt (3:14:13).
The mixed event was won by Corne Barnard and Sarita Louw in 2:11:23. Joggie Prinsloo and Janice Venter (2:24:31) came in second with Jeannette Wylie and Petrus Maree (2:33:32) in third.
