Alan Hatherly and Simon Andreassen rode to victory on stage two of the Wines2Whales Shiraz mountain bike race in Grabouw, Western Cape, today.

The Spur-Specialized duo completed the 66km stage, which started and finished at Oak Valley Wine Estate, in 2:26:13, beating stage one winners Matt Beers and Wessel Botha (NAD; 2:26:14). Waypoint-Leuven’s Frans Claes and Jasper Stuyven (2:27:13) rounded out the podium.
Happy Cycling’s Mari Rabie and Nicole Erasmus (3:11:23) claimed their second stage victory when they finished first in the women’s event. Second were Alison Chait and Charmaine Lilje (3:40:42) with Fair Cape’s Des Loubser and Michelle Nielsen (3:44:44) in third.
Rockhopper Adventures’ Corne Barnard and Mariske Strauss won the mixed event in 2:51:03. Second were Pitstop Sport’s Catherine Williamson and Conway Brett Oliver (2:59:13), followed by Sales hire’s Katie Lennard and Shaun Sale (3:00:29)
