Andries Nigrini won the 80km men’s event at the WTF MTB Race in Pretoria, Gauteng, today.
He finished the race in 2:58:52 to beat Hennie Myburg (3:00:18) and Marthinus Greyling (3:04:08).

Yzette Oelofse (3:16:17) rode to victory in the women’s event. She was followed home by Michelle Zulch (3:37:08) and Clara Gaudard (3:41:35).
The 60km men’s race was won by Riaan van Hamersveld in 2:24:53. Second and third were Dave Lunn (2:29:27) and Jacques Labuschagne (2:38:55).
Claire Watson won the women’s title in 2:44:57 ahead of Monja Matfield (2:45:13) and Madeleine Engelbrecht (2:50:41).
Dylan Carroll secured the victory in the 40km men’s race when he finished in 1:34:25. Christian Gruschwitz (1:35:30) came in second, followed by Ryan Skinner (1:36:24).
The women’s event was led home by Lesleigh Beukes in 1:53:51. Second was Marjoné Strydom (1:57:38) with Rune du Plessis (2:00:52) in third.
Bernard Louis (0:43:28) finished first in the men’s 20km event, beating Dewaldt Streicher (0:44:31) and Ruan Bothma (0:46:57) into second and third respectively.
Teresa Schoeman claimed the women’s title in 0:59:52. She was followed home by Maryna Coetzee (1:01:01) and Lize Cronje (1:02:34).
