Carl Bonthuys won the elite men’s scratch race at the African Track Continental Championships in Pietermaritzburg today.
South Africa’s Bonthuys beat compatriot Joshua van Wyk and Algeria’s Yacine Chalel into second and third respectively.

SA’s Maroesjka Matthee won the elite women’s category, finishing faster than Egypt’s Ebtissam Zayed and compatriot Ilze Bole.
South African pair, Steven van Heerden and Van Wyk, won the elite men’s Madison, while their compatriots, Elfriede Wolfaardt and Danielle van Niekerk, secured the win in the women’s version.
