Direct Energie’s Niccolo Bonifazio won the Tropicale Amissa Bongo after the seventh and final stage concluded in Libreville, Gabon, yesterday.
Bonifazio finished with a final general classification of 20:39:25, six seconds clear of Vital Concept-B&B Hotels’ Lorrenzo Manzin.

“It was important for me to win a race like this in Gabon,” Bonifazio said. “It required a lot of concentration and consistency throughout the week.
“This was the first time I raced in Africa – it will be a great memory.”
South Africa’s Rohan du Plooy, of ProTouch, finished 11th overall. He came eighth on the final stage.
