Ashleigh Moolman Pasio was crowned the 2019 national road champion after winning the elite women’s race at the South African road championships in Pretoria today.
The CCC-Liv rider completed the 136km course in 4:01:40. Juanita Venter, who led for the majority of the race, placed second in 4:03:31. Joanna van de Winkel completed the podium after finishing in 4:04:41.

Tiffany Keep won the U23 national road race title after crossing the line in 4:05:30 and placing fourth overall.
During her race interview, Moolman Pasio said she was very impressed with Tiffany Keep and hoped to see her racing in Europe.
Defending champion Carla Oberholzer finished in fifth place.
The 30-34 vets race was won by Linda Jooste, with Tanya Sanel Barnes in second.
Lizle Rosenstein won the 35-39 category. Michelle Andrew placed second, with Lauren Coleman third.
Desray Foyn took the 40-44 race title. Nadine Nunes and Marisa van der Linde placed second and third respectively.
The elite/U23 men’s race will take place tomorrow.
