Matthys Beukes won the 80km feature race at the Sabie Classic in Sabie, Mpumalanga, today.
The Pyga Euro Steel rider, who recently won the Attakwas Extreme MTB Challenge, finished the race in 3:31:35. He beat Philip Buys and Nico Bell into second and third respectively.

Beukes and teammate Buys won the Cape Pioneer Trek at the end of last year.
Fourth place went to Ben Melt Swanepoel, with Pieter du Toit in fifth.
The women’s race was won by Yolandi du Toit after finishing in 4:26:74. Aurelie Halbwachs placed second in 4:56:41.
The 21st edition of the event formed part of the UCI MTB Marathon World Series and therefore was an opportunity for riders to earn UCI points.
