Frans Claes claimed the men’s title after stage two of the Simonsberg Contour MTB Stage Race in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, today.
Claes, who won stage one and came third on today’s stage, finished the two-day event in 4:03:57.

Konny Looser (4:09:39) took second with Sebastian Stark (4:09:49) in third.
Esther Suss, who led from start to finish, completed the women’s event in 4:37:16. Jennie Stenerhag (4:39:20) came second, followed by Katie Lennard (4:44:16).
Organisers were forced to shortened the 60km (long route) event to 40km due fog and rain.
