The TransCape kicked off in George for the first time this year, and started at the foot of the Outiniqua mountains.
The 78km opening stage extended through the quaint sections of the Garden Route, over the Montagu Pass to eventually finish at the Chandelier Game Reserve near Oudtshoorn.
The second stage comprised a 100km route that started in the Klein Karoo, before moving along much jeep tracks in the valley. Exiting the jeep track sections, the route then moves along the foothills of the Gamka and Rooiberg mountains, before the stage ends at the Rooiberg Lodge. View the results.
The third stage took riders on a 78km challenge out of the Rooiberg Lodge reserve, through a farm section, on to the main Van Wyksdorp road and into Kanga. Riders then enjoyed true mountain-biking through private game farms until they finished at the Langenhoven School in Riversdale. View the results.
The 98km fourth stage had a relatively fast-flowing the first half, consisting of tame hills and many descents. The big climb of the day, the Graveyard climb, hit riders at the halfway mark before descending single track back into the valley. The stage ended at the Gaikou Lodge in Swellendam. View the results.
