The Netherlands, comprising Roy van den Berg, Harrie Lavreysen and Jeffrey Hoogland, won the men’s team sprint at the Track Cycling World Champs in Pruszkow, Poland, yesterday.
The team beat France (Gregory Bauge, Sébastien Vigier and Quentin Lafargue) in the finals by just over one second. Russia (Alexander Sharapov, Denis Dmitriev and Pavel Yakushevskiy) claimed bronze, edging Germany (Timo Bichler, Stefan Botticher and Maximilian Dornbach) in the third-fourth play-offs.

Australia (Kaarle McCulloch and Stephanie Morton) won the women’s team sprint, beating Russia (Daria Shmeleva and Anastasiia Voinova) in the final.
