Deceuninck-QuickStep’s Fabio Jakobsen won the 199.1km opening stage of the Volta ao Algarve in Lagos yesterday.
The Dutchman sprinted to victory in 4:52:59, beating Groupama-FDJ’s Arnaud Demare and Bora-Hansgrohe’s Pascal Ackermann to the line.
