South Africa’s Damon Fouchee finished sixth in a sprint finish at the African Continental Road Championships 104.4km junior men’s road race in Ethiopia today.
Fouchee, who rides locally for OfficeGuru, finished with a time of 2:30:25. He was reportedly part of the day’s break for the duration of the race, before narrowly falling short at the end.

Rwanda’s Renus Uhiriwe Byiza won the race in 2:30:23, beating Eritrea’s Yoel Asmerom to the line.
