Nice will host the 2020 Tour de France Grand Depart, event organisers announced today.
The two opening stage routes were revealed, which will start with a hilly day in the south of France, followed by a mountain stage the next day.
The first stage will comprise a 170km route and will include a three-lap circuit after ascending the cote d’Aspremont.
The stage is expected to culminate in a bunch sprint on the Promenade des Anglais.
The 190km second stage will tackle the col de la Colmiane, col de Turini and Col D’Eze Mountains, which is expected to pose a stiff challenge for the climbers.
This will be the seventh time that the Tour starts in the south of France.
