Julian Alaphilippe won the penultimate stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico in Jesi today.
The Deceuninck-QuickStep rider finished the 195km flat course, which started in Matelica, in a time of 4:42:11.

Israel Cycling Academy’s Davide Cimolai placed second in the bunch sprint, while Alaphilippe’s teammate Elia Viviani placed third.
Dimension Data’s Reinardt Janse van Rensburg was the first South African to finish after placing ninth.
“I saw the line at 200m and I just went full gas. It’s incredible,” said the stage winner.
Mitchelton-Scott’s Adam Yates still tops the general classification with a total time of 25:15:59, 25 seconds ahead of Jumbo-Visma’s Primoz Roglic. Astana’s Jakob Fuglsang completes the overall podium.
The final stage consists of a 10km individual time trial in San Benedetto del Tronto.
