South African Wessel Botha won the under 23 men’s race at the African Continental MTB Cross-Country Championships in Windhoek, Namibia, today.
He completed the six-lap course in 1:12:00, beating fellow countrymen Julian Jessop (1:14:55) and Henry Liebenberg (1:16:02).

The elite men’s race was won by Alan Hatherly in 1:20:27, with Philip Buys second (1:21:24) and Alex Miller third (1:24:35).
Daniel Tjaart Mauritz van der Walt (South Africa) won the junior men’s race in 1:00:39. He was followed by compatriots Johan van Zyl (1:00:55) and Tristan Nortje (1:00:58).
