Demacon MTB Series #3 results: Burger, Strydom win

Barend Burger won the 55km men’s race at the third leg of the Demacon MTB Series in Dullstroom, Mpumalanga, today.

He (2:07:58) finished ahead of Reinhart Viljoen (2:09:03) and Christo Carelsen (2:12:39).

Zandri Strydom (2:26:55) rode to victory in the women’s event. She was followed home by Bernice van Wyk (2:31:59) and Thiesa Janse van Rensburg (2:40:57).

Jacques Nel won the 35km men’s title in 1:42:06 to beat Armand Smit (1:47:09) and Neo Sibiya (1:47:22).

The women’s event saw Monet Blofield (1:55:22) claim the honours ahead of Yolande Jacobs (1:58:33) and Santie van der Westhuizen (1:59:02).

Leroux van der Leek (0:23:00) took the honours in the men’s 10km race. Second was Daniel Coetzer (0:28:21), followed by Deon Janse van Rensburg (0:28:28).

Johane Swanepoel (0:28:30) finished first in the women’s category, beating Danica du Plessis (0:31:51) and Terry Nel (0:35:22) to the finish.
