Kent Main won the 98km elite men’s road race at the East Rand Classic in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, today.
Main completed the course in a time of 2:23:01, beating Rocco King (2:25:09) and James Barnes (2:25:09) into second and third respectively.
Fourth place went to Barry Crouch (2:25:12), with Andries Nigrini (2:25:15) completing the top five.
The women’s race was won by Sanet Coetzee in 2:37:44. Heidi Dalton crossed the line in second (2:38:44), with Kim le Court third (2:38:44).
Desray Sebregts and S’annara Grove placed fourth and fifth in 2:38:44 and 2:38:45 respectively.
