Erik Kleinhans won the Gran Fondo race at the Swartberg100 in Prince Albert yesterday.
Kleinhans completed the 170km route, which featured 3 000m of ascent and 79km of gravel in three sectors, in a time of 5:47:37.
Robert Hobson placed second (5:49:23), with Jaco Pelser third (5:55:25).
The women’s race was won by Christie Hearder (6:48:01), while Ischen Stopforth (6:52:48) and Sarah van Heerden (7:19:20) placed second and third respectively.
Pierre Terblanche and Michelle George won the men’s and women’s Medio Fondo races, which featured a 53.75km route with 389m of ascent.
