According to reports, the sprinter will take some time-out and focus on his Tour de France preparations.
The Italian finished first on the third stage, but was relegated for deviating from his line. He also placed second three times.
“My Giro ends today,” said Viviani.
He added that he was not at his best and lacked the self-belief that he needed.
