Fernando Gaviria won stage three of the Giro d’Italia, which finished in Orbetello today, after Elia Viviani was relegated for deviating from his line.
Arnaud Demare (Groupama-FDJ) placed second, with stage two winner and sprinter classification leader Pascal Ackermann (Bora-Hansgrohe) third.
Primoz Roglic (Team Jumbo-Visma) held on to the pink jersey, with Simon Yates (Mitchelton-Scott) second overall and Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain-Merida) third.
The win was Gaviria’s first on his return to the tour after claiming victory in four stages on his debut two years ago.
