Matthys Beukes and Philip Buys secured the sani2c Race men’s titles after the third and final stage at Scottburgh Golf Club in Scottburgh, KwaZulu-Natal, today.
The Pyga-Euro Steel duo completed the event in 8:48:44, beating NAD MTB’s Matt Beers and Stuart Marais (8:53:09). Third were DSV Pro Cycling’s Arno du Toit and Gert Heyns (8:56:42).
Dormakaba’s Robyn de Groot and Samantha Sanders won the women’s event in 10:13:55 while Galileo Risk’s Sarah Hill and Theresa Ralph (10:17:53) finished second. Bell Equipment’s Desiree Briedenhan and Hayley Smith (11:27:56) rounded out the podium.
The mixed race was won by Cycle Nation-Sandton City’s Tijl and Joanne van de Winkel (10:37:49). Second were Ryder Innovation’s Martin van der Westhuizen and Sanet Coetzee (10:51:31), followed by Tantigatti’s Fiddy Gey van Pittius and Callan Sexton (10:58:28).
