The Frenchman said afterwards he felt good all day and that the guys did a great job to position him over the last climbs.
“We brought Thomas De Gendt back and I felt I still had some power in the legs. At the foot of the final climb I was up in the first positions and as we went up I was feeling pretty strong.”
When they came out of the final bend, he went for it.
“I looked up and said to myself: ‘All the way to the line’.”
Slovenia’s Roglic maintains the overall lead in 12:23:02. He is trailed by Gaudu (+0:0006) and Portugal’s Costa (+0:00:08).
