Swiss cyclist Stefan Kung won stage two of the Tour de Romandie in Morges, Switzerland, today.
The 25-year-old Groupama-FDJ rider completed the 174.4km route, which started in Le Locle, in a time of 4:10:59.
Sam Bennett (Bora-Hansgrohe) placed second, with Sonny Colbrelli (Bahrain-Merida) third.
“I had a look at the stage profiles and realised this was a good day for me,” said Kung.
“Of course, you’ve got to get in the right break and then to be able to drop the other guys, have the legs and hold off the peloton, so it’s complicated. But I pulled it off and it’s a great win for me.”
Primoz Roglic (Team Jumbo-Visma) retained his overall lead. Rui Costa (UAE Team Emirates) was second, with David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) third.
