Dutch cyclist Jesper Asselman won the opening stage of Tour de Yorkshire in Selby today.
The Roompot-Charles cyclist finished the 178.5km course, which kicked off in Doncaster, in a time of 4:05:45.
Second place went to Filippo Fortin (Cofidis, Solutions Credits), with Jonas van Genechten (Vital Concept-B&B Hotel) third.
Boy van Poppel (Roompot-Charles) finished fourth, with Gabriel Cullaigh (Team Wiggins Lecol) fifth.
