Pieter du Toit clinched the men’s title at the Magalies Monster Mountain Bike Classic in Rustenburg, North West, today.
He completed the 65km route in 2:53:00 to beat Marc Fourie (2:57:20) and Keagan Bontekoning (2:57:58) to the finish.
Danielle Strydom showed off her strength when she won the women’s race in 3:25:13. Sanet Coetzee (3:33:42) came in second, followed by Junanna Labuschagne (3:46:12).
Bertie Anderson (1:34:44) rode to victory in the 33km men’s event while Anton Roelofse (1:36:15) and Antonie Lit (1:36:24) rounded out the podium.
The women’s title went to Monique du Toit (1:52:57) with Jone van Eeden (1:57:49) in second. Caitlin Thompson (2:04:12) grabbed the final spot on the podium.
