Bryce Hennessey set a new record when he finished The 1000 Miler mountain bike ride first at Bloubergstrand in Cape Town, Western Cape, on Wednesday.

He completed the non-stop, self-navigated event, which started in Vanderbijlpark, Free State, and covered roughly 1 600km, in four days, six hours and 43 minutes.
This meant that he beat last year’s winning time of five days, seven hours and 18 minutes, which was set by Wimpie Sander.
Second and third this year were Simon Rollo and Sarah van Heerden who both finished in four days, 12 hours and 59 minutes.
