Dutch cyclist Antwan Tolhoek climbed to victory on stage six of the Tour de Suisse that finished in Flumserberg today.
The 25-year-old Jumbo-Visma rider completed the 120.2km route, which kicked off in Einsiedeln and featured the first summit finish of the race, 16 seconds ahead of Egan Bernal (Team Ineos).
François Bidard (AG2R La Mondiale) hung on for third place.
This was the first professional win for Tolhoek.
“This is a very special feeling. Three years ago I won the mountain jersey in this race and now I have won my first professional race at WorldTour level.
“Also my compliments to the team and the way we raced. We are with only five riders, but we continue to fight every day.”
Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe) lost the yellow jersey to Bernal, with Rohan Dennis (Bahrain-Merida) second overall and Patrick Konrad (Bora-Hansgrohe) third.
