Yves Lampaert won the race against the clock on stage eight of Tour de Suisse in Goms, Switzerland, today.
The Belgian completed the 19.2km stage in 21:58 to beat Denmark’s Kasper Asgreen (+0:00:05) and Søren Kragh Andersen (+0:00:10).
Columbia’s Egan Bernal, who finished 11th today, retained the yellow jersey and leads the tour in 24:40:24.
After placing sixth on the stage, Australia’s Rohan Dennis lies second overall and 22 seconds behind Bernal.
Austria’s Patrick Konrad, 30th today and third in the general classification, trails Bernal with one minute and 46 seconds.
