Arno du Toit won the second leg of Gauteng’s Trailseeker Series at Buffelsdrift Mountain Bike Park in Pretoria today.

The 26-year-old Durbanville resident completed the 85km event, which also incorporated the SA XCM Championships, in 3:02:36 to beat Jan Withaar (3:02:36) and Philip Buys (3:02:40).
“SA champs is the one race everyone wants to win, so needless to say it’s a massive result for me and I’m so so happy that all the prep and hard work came together for me on the day.
“I knew the route suited my riding style and I’ve won a Trailseeker there before, so motivation was high and the goal was to get on that top step.”
Samantha Sanders claimed the women’s title over Robyn de Groot (3:27:49) and Sarah Hill (3:29:39) when she finished in 3:25:22.
The 70km men’s race saw Ignus Oosthuizen (2:37:56) finish ahead of Brett Chilcott (2:40:01) and Philip Malan (2:40:23).
Benjamin Baber (1:28:44) rode to victory in the 40km men’s event while Johan van Zyl (1:31:34) and Trabis Stedman (1:31:55) rounded out the podium.
