Philip Fourie and Francois Ebersohn were the men’s team winners on the opening stage of the Waterberg MTB Encounter that finished at Elements Private Golf Reserve in Bela-Bela today.
The duo completed the 57km stage, which started at the Sondela Nature Reserve & Spa, in a time of 2:36:11.
Second across the line were Mark Prince and Michael Minnaar, while Lionel Scholtz and Andre Gibhard placed third.
Yolandi Kotze and Alta Gosling won the women’s team event.
The mixed team race was won by Timo and Michaele Cooper, with Monia and Fritz Vermaak second. Justin and Lizette Cave finished third.
Jacques Wentzel won the solo men’s race, while Francois Smith and Travis Johnston placed second and third respectively.
