Philip Fourie and Francois Ebersohn won the men’s team race at this year’s Waterberg MTB Encounter at Sondela Nature Reserve & Spa in Bela-Bela, Limpopo, today.
The duo, who also won the third and final stage, claimed an overall time of 6:59:30. Mark Prince and Michael Minnaar (7:16:44) placed second, with Andre Gibhard and Lionel Scholtz (7:19:26) third.
Timo and Michaele Cooper won the mixed event in a total time of 7:51:14. Second place went to Justin and Lizette Cave (8:34:45) with Lesleigh and Heimar Beukes (8:48:17) third.
Yolandi Kotze and Alta Gosling (11:03:13) won the women’s team title.
The solo men’s race was won by Jacques Wentzel (7:43:27), with Francois Smith (7:53:57) and Chris van der Merwe (8:16:56) placing second and third respectively.
