A memorial and protest ride has been planned for Sunday in honour of cyclists who have died on Gauteng roads.
The 20km event, which will be hosted by the Pedal Power Association in support of safer roads for cyclists, starts at 7am at the Terrazza Shopping Centre in Florida Glen, Roodepoort.
A document with concerns will be handed over to officials and a ghost bike will be set up in memory of Dr Willie Fourie and other cyclists who have lost their lives.
Fourie died after being hit by a truck in Ontdekkers Road, Roodepoort, in May.
The bike, also known as a ghostcycle, serves as a reminder to motorists to keep a safe distance from cyclists.
