Nino Schurter claimed gold in the elite men’s cross-country olympic race at the UCI MTB World Cup in Les Gets, France, today.
The Swiss crossed the finish line in a time of 1:22:10. Gerhard Kerschbaumer finished four seconds later, with Henrique Avancini 38 seconds back.
Stephane Tempier took fourth position, with Ondrej Cink fifth.
Fourth place went to Sina Frei, with Pauline Ferrand Prevot fifth.
South African Alan Hatherly placed 43rd.
